"I absolutely love what I do every day. And that is providing planning advice and guidance to families, individuals, and small business owners."

By creating and implementing financial plans designed specifically for each client’s needs and concerns, I help clear away the clutter so they can focus on their businesses, families and whatever they enjoy doing.

A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I founded Bowers Private Wealth Management, to provide comprehensive, fee-based planning services that include strategies for charitable giving, education funding, inheritance and estate concerns, tax reduction and alternative programs for accredited investors. For small business owners, I provide strategies for business exit planning, construction and implementation of key-man or buy-sell agreements, as well as management of 401(k) and other retirement plans.

A North Carolina native, and except for a few years in Atlanta and Knoxville, I’ve made the Raleigh area my home for most of my life.  After graduating from North Carolina State University in 1999 with a B.S. in textile and apparel management, I went on to complete my M.B.A., where I quickly recognized my greater passion for financial planning.  However, my management experience has provided insight and appreciation for the challenges facing business owners and executives.

Having completed extensive coursework with the American College of Bryn Mawr, PA, I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant in 2005.  Registered with FINRA for general securities (Series 7 and 63 in 2001) and investment advisor (Series 65 in 2002), I am authorized to conduct securities-related business in NC and SC. I am also licensed for life and long-term care insurance (2002) in NC, PA, SC and WA.

An avid runner, I enjoy road races and cooking all types of food, particularly Mexican and anything I can prepare in our smoker. I am also a long-time member and former board member of the Cary-MacGregor Rotary Club. My wife Beth and I live in Raleigh with our son and our beagle/spaniel puppy, named Cole.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
